Ok, you have your website up and running 4 weeks ago. You have
done the following thus far to promote your site...
a. Submission to Search Engines b. Submission to directories c.
FFA (Free For All) d. Free Banner Ads
For all that promotion, you are only getting 20 visitors a day.
Now you ask the one million dollar question. How can I get more
visitors to my site? You have a low budget and you want to know
how and where you can promote your website to get more visitors?
Welcome to the real world of Internet marketing. To have 20
visitors per day is not bad for a few weeks old online business.
Promoting your website is an ongoing process to improve search
engine visibility and increase web traffic.
Search Engines
For a start, it takes months to rank well at the major search
engines for competitive keywords. Google, Yahoo and MSN are
currently the 'big three'. You may rank well for MSN in a matter
of three months but it may take up to a year to rank well for
Google and Yahoo. You may not receive traffic from the major
search engines for quite a while.
There was a time where you could rank well on the major in a
matter of weeks. Webmasters employ html tricks, meta tag
spamming, special doorway pages to rank high at the search
engines. The scenario has changed. The major search engines have
tightened their algorithms to prevent exploitation and their
Search Engine Result Page (SERP) from being spammed by
webmasters.
So, beware of any SEO company that promises high ranking in a
matter of days or weeks. There is a difference between having
your web pages indexed and ranking well. Your web pages may be
indexed within 24 hours but it may months before they rank well
for your keywords. Ranking well at the major search engines can
turn out to a long, long process.
This does not mean that you give up SEO altogether. Learn about
SEO and subscribe to excellent SEO newsletters to keep up with
the latest SEO news and developments. Make adjustments to your
web pages but don't fall into the trap of SEO rat race that saps
up all your time and energy.
There are other aspects of web promotion that needs your
attention if you aspire to grow your business.
Directories, FFAs and Free Banner Ads
What about directories and FFAs? You are fortunate if you have a
few click-through from free directory listings. The alternative
is to get your website listed in Yahoo! Business Directory. The
cost of listing is a tidy sum of USD299 a year.
FFAs are hopeless. Free banner ads are not effective.
Pay per Click (PPC)
Pay per click (PPC) or Cost per Click (CPC) are text ads placed
on websites, advertising networks or search engines. Google
Adwords and Overture are the two popular PPC advertising on the
Net.
Every time someone clicks on an ad, the advertiser is charged a
specific amount. The amount does not exceed the highest bid the
advertiser is willing to pay for his or her ad keywords. This
kind of advertising drives targeted traffic to your site. A word
of caution here though, unless you know the ins and outs, do's
and don'ts of PPC, steer clear or else you may blow your budget.
Content Distribution and Ezine Advertising
For a budget conscious online business the best ways of web
promotion are distributing content and ezine advertising.
Write articles that are specific to your business and distribute
them through article directories. No sales pitch and affiliate
links at this stage please. Just include what is called a
'resource box' with your website address, email link and a short
description (3 to 5 lines) about yourself and your business.
Article directories readily make available your articles for
others to use in their ezines. This becomes free publicity for
your business. Better still if your articles address the
situations of your readers and provide solutions to their
problems. This will established you as a credible source of
information. In turn, you will have people who are predisposed
to do business with you coming to your website via your
articles' resource box link.
Ezine advertising is another cost effective way of promoting a
newly start up low budget online business. It puts your ads into
contact with targeted, potential customers for your product or
service. Conversion rates tend to be higher, because the people
who clicked on the ad link are interested in what you have to
offer.
Do the necessary, search engines and directories submission,
gather inbound links, but spend the greater part of your time to
researching, writing quality content, and developing a quality
ezine to promote your site. Without systematic planning and
clear directions, you will go in circles and ultimately give up
altogether. Making gobs of money on the Internet may not be easy
nowadays, but not impossible.

There's so much public domain content available all over the
internet, with Master Resale Rights available and sites
springing up left and right with Private Label articles you can
use to create your own products, but what do you need to bear in
mind, what is the best way to use all this content and what can
you create with it?
What to Look Out For:
Copyright - you absolutely must check on this - violating
someone's copyright is not clever and can be a really expensive
mistake not to mention seriously damaging your reputation. Is it
really public domain? All those lawyers fees can really mount up
when checking into all this but believe me, you really don't
want to end up in court over it.
Public Domain Content - If you have the money to have a lawyer
look at copyright for you then fine, go ahead and get started.
Where can you find this type of content? It can be difficult to
find content that is free to use but here are a few links to get
you started:
http://www.gutenberg.org/ http://www.wikimedia.org/
http://www.gpoaccess.gov/index.html
Master Resale Rights - If you can't afford expensive lawyers
what else can you do? One rather less pricey way is to buy
Master Resale Rights to a product - this gives you the
opportunity to name yourself as the author, use the content in
another product, rewrite the whole thing - the possibilities are
endless. Just be aware with this that you will need to look at
the terms and conditions of what you are allowed to do with the
product before you buy.
On a budget? - not to worry, there are still many ways you can
find great content without spending a fortune or worrying about
whether you can legally use it. Sites such as
http://www.infogoround.com and http://www.thelostfiles.com
provide guaranteed public domain or private label content for a
monthly fee. You could also sign up to some of the well known
internet marketer's newsletters. Why? Well if you're serious
about internet marketing you should be checking out all the
latest happenings anyway, but a lot of newsletter owners will
have free ebooks, giveaways and articles to download - some of
which you will be able to use as your own.
So you've got your content ready to go and you've checked your
rights and permissions but there is one more thing to think
about - sites such as http://www.copyscape.com can check for
duplicate content on the internet and of course so can the
search engines. This could mean anything from the search engines
deciding they won't rate your site as highly because the exact
same content is available elsewhere to some smarty pants asking
you if you really did write that incredibly good article because
they've seen someone else claiming that they wrote it too, so
you do need to be aware of this when looking to use content you
haven't personally created, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't
go ahead and make the most of all that wonderful information.
What Can You Do?
You could just read the information to learn from it yourself;
you could read it to get ideas for businesses, more articles,
content, the list is limited only by your imagination.
How about:
Ebooks Print Books Presentations Membership Sites Face to face
courses Mini courses Teleclass content Webcast content Podcast
content Blog content Content for your Autoresponder Ezine
content Articles for your site to build AdSense income pages
Viral Reports Tips Lists
When it comes to using all the content you have gathered, you
need to look through it all and decide what you want to produce.
If you plan to use content from more than one source, such as 2
or 3 articles by different authors to be combined into a report,
you will need to go through and change the content into a
similar style, check that it is all written in the same tense,
make sure the formatting is the same throughout, check for
spelling and grammar (for example - spelling for some words is
different in the US than the UK) and look through all the
articles to see if any of the points made are duplicated.
Once you've done this, make a list of points you want to make in
your report, read the articles through again and start combining
them together to fit what you want to say - cut and paste to
copy sections into the right place.
Next, look at the way your draft reads now and see if it fits
your style of writing, your personality and your business.
Reword it to fit with this - there's no point in producing a
very formally written, stiff sounding report for a hobby site.
At this point you could just tweak it, proof read it, and then
go ahead and publish it but to take it a step further and make
it really unique, why not look at how you might rewrite it so
that all of the content is yours - now you've got the basic idea
down and laid out, it shouldn't take you long to reword things,
add in some of your own ideas and keywords that fit your site,
and maybe a few quotes and suddenly you're looking at something
that no-one else has got, that the search engines will love and
that no-one can claim you copied.
Time to start creating!
Budget.

Have you ever heard the statement, "The Best Things in Life are
Free"? That statement holds a lot of truth, especially when it
comes to starting an internet business opportunity. The problem
is that most people don't have the finances it requires to start
their own business. The beauty of the internet is that it is one
of the few marketing platforms providing ordinary people, with
limited capital, an opportunity to create their own full time
business.
Lucky for us, it is possible to start a profitable internet
business opportunity with very little start-up costs. Below are
a few methods to begin promoting your new internet business
opportunity on a shoe string budget.
1. Optimize Your Web Pages for the Search Engines.
Make sure that your web site is properly optimized for the
keywords you have selected for your web pages. It is important
to do a few simple things right when it comes to SEO. First, use
H1 and H2 tags on all of your pages, making sure that your
headlines include your keyword or keyword phrase. Check your
pages keyword density, it is best that you range from 3-5%. You
may be able to go higher than that without spamming but you will
just have to play with it.
2. Open an Account with Google and Place a Compatible Site-Map
on Your Site.
The absolute fastest way to get indexed with Google is to place
a site-map on your web site. Open an account with Google, don't
worry it's free, and tell Google where to find that site-map.
You will be indexed within 24 hours, it's that simple. The
quicker you are indexed by the major search engines the more
traffic you will start receiving.
3. Write and Submit Articles.
There is NO better way to get free traffic than writing articles
and submitting them to article directories and announcement
lists. Writing articles provides a webmaster a multitude of
benefits like linking and notoriety. By writing and submitting
several articles a week you will build an empire of backlinks
and a hail storm of traffic.
4. Write Press Releases.
Press releases are the country cousin of articles but don't
underestimate their power. Press releases are very similar to
articles and can reap you the same type of benefits. There are a
growing number of press related and syndication directories
popping up all over the internet. Traffic and links are the
paramount reason why press releases are a great strategy.
Especially, for those that are looking for low cost marketing
techniques.
5. Use Free Classifieds to Promote Your New Internet Business
Opportunity.
Make use of the internet's many free classified sites. This is
not my most recommended marketing technique but the more you get
your web site's name in front of people the more traffic you
will receive. Make sure that your ads are placed in the right
network of sites for your targeted audience.
Starting a new internet business opportunity is a challenge! You
are competing against billions of other web sites with more
coming online everyday. By using the strategies outlined above
you will be ahead of 99% of all the other web site owners on the
net. The techniques are simple yet very effective and the best
thing is they are all FREE!

Most of you have seen those little buttons on websites labeled
RSS or XML. If you are wondering what they are, RSS means Really
Simple Syndication. Really simple because when you subscribe to
a site that has this feature, you keep up-to-date with new
information without having to check the site every day. This is
really good news because you can use it to get newsfeeds from
major news networks, news on new movies, even your favorite
musician's tour dates or CD releases.
This new twist to the Internet is very valuable to you as a
Internet marketer too. Imagine replacing email marketing with
RSS marketing. People actually subscribe meaning they want your
information updates, similar to opt-in newsletters. With
newsletters you have to write them and your site content. With
RSS, when you update your content, all subscribers are notified
by their newsreaders.
Newsreaders are special software that read RSS feeds. To get
started, download a free RSS reader.
If you use a Windows PC, go to http://www.rssreader.com
For Mac users, see http://ranchero.com/netnewswire
Once you are set up, here's all you or your customers have to
do...
Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on any RSS button on a
site, blog or news source that interests you. Select Copy
Shortcut ("Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac, "Copy Link Location"
for Firefox browsers), and paste that URL into your RSS Reader.
And that is it, you are subscribed. Once you get started, your
favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and
check for updates all the time. If you do not want to download
software, subscribe to your favorite feeds through My Yahoo or
My MSN.
So how does any of this make you money?
More traffic means more money. By placing RSS on your website or
your blog, anyone can subscribe automatically and know when a
new product or service is available. This new breed of Internet
shopper is not to be ignored. To take advantage of the traffic
you have to make your RSS feed available to website visitors and
submit your feed information to RSS, blog and XML type
directories.
Here's how you get RSS for your site!
Go to http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss for the best source
of RSS and Blog information. There are several file types for
RSS and here you learn which is best and why. The easiest and
fastest way to learn more about this technology and see it in
use is to go to http://rss.sitesell.com where you find all you
need to know about RSS, including solid marketing ideas.
There is no need to become a techie, no need to know all the ins
and outs of RSS and XML. There is huge need for you to know
enough about this newest technology to use it. Once you do, it
comes easy to see how you make money online with RSS. In the
same way newsletters and opt-in email are used for successful
marketing, RSS is much easier, faster, and a much less intrusive
way to communicate with potential or existing clients and
customers.
It's very critical to provide exactly what people want to make
money online. How can there be a better way to do that than to
allow people to subscribe to their wants and wishes? Start using
RSS and XML technologies to make money online now before it too
becomes the jungle email marketing is. To add fuel to your
marketing fire, use optimized content for frequent updates to
your blogs and web pages and deliver it with RSS.

Free is a magic word. There's nothing that rings in people's
ears more than the word free. Let's face it, everybody loves
freebies. Who wouldn't want to get something for nothing? This
adds an extra incentive for people to pay interest to whatever
deal your business is offering, if they know that they'll be
getting something in return for their efforts.
Using this tactic gives online marketers an edge over the
competition. In the world of online marketing, you need all the
advantages you can get. Given that the internet is a global
market. The chances of earning some serious profits is enormous.
Nowadays the internet has become an integral part of our lives.
It has become an essential tool that adds convenience to our
everyday living. Imagine that with a simple click of a button
you can get hooked up with all types of information, and
services you can possibly want.
It is no wonder that online businesses is clamoring to get in on
the action. This is the new trend in marketing nowadays, and in
order to stay afloat you need to come up with a strategy that
will sure to put your online business ahead of the competition.
One of the most effective ways you can do this is to utilize the
word free in your online promotion. It is one of the most
powerful words that you can use when it comes to the world
advertisement.
This word could make the difference between success and failure.
A lot of people who will not otherwise click on a website or
subscribe to an ezine will change their minds if they know that
there'd be something in it that could be beneficial for them.
It doesn't matter what type of products or services you are
offering. If your business specializes in hair products, or
you're offering services for pet care, using the work free will
instantly make these offers more appealing to people.
Even if those online surfers are not thinking of getting the
latest cure for balding, or it has not even occurred to them to
get their pets signed up for a weekend get away in a pet resort,
they might suddenly think twice, if they see a nice deal that
offers free perks.
One of the most important things to remember when it comes to
using this magic word, is to actually make true on your promise!
So you don't get a bad wrap for false advertisement.
One of the best free offers that an online business can give
away is a free e-book! This is a great promotional give away
that you can offer regardless of what type of product you are
selling online.
Also, you can use this free e-book to actually promote the
product or services you are offering. You can offer to give away
a free e-book that contains information about your online
business.
By making people aware of the fine points of your business
through an e-book , you are increasing the numbers of your
potential customers by sending the work out that you have a
viable enterprise.
For ezines- a free trial subscription will be a great way to
bring in more subscribers. Look at it this way, if the content
material you are producing is that good, people won't be able to
resist, they will keep on coming back.
For business websites who are going to have their websites
listed in a search engine, include a promotional campaign using
the word free in the brief description of your website.
Littering your descriptions with keywords are important. Using
the word free will add an additional appeal to your content, and
entice readers to click on the url of your website.
Although you have to be careful that you don't overuse the word
free in your promotional campaign. People regard this word as a
special offer. When they see this word posted on an
advertisement, they actually believe that they are getting the
best deal. So make this word count by using it meaningfully.
Make sure that if you use the word free that you actually do
offer something for free. This way, you will not lose
credibility by making false claims.
Also, when you use the word free in a promotion campaign, make
sure that online consumers understand how this term applies. So
in the end there will not be any confusion and bad feedback from
online consumers. After all, you wouldn't want to get a bad
reputation. This might turn off prospective customers.
Remember that promotion is an important part of why a business
succeeds. That's why you need to concentrate on generating the
right positive response from your target market. Using the word
free could just be your golden ticket to success!

As you probably know, Google Adwords is a pay-per-click solution
offered by Google. As with other PPCs, you are given the ability
to place your small advertisement on various platforms
controlled by Google. While the platform provides you with a
large audience, you must manipulate your keywords to generate
success.
Matching Options
When running an Adwords campaign, you can and should define when
your keywords will appear in search results. To do this, you can
select matching options for each of your keywords to either
reach a broad audience or target a niche.
The Google Adwords platform allows you to select four matching
options:
Broad Match
Broad match is the default setting for an Adwords campaign.
Broad match means your ad will appear in search results when any
combination of the words in your keyword phrase search. Many an
advertiser has learned expensive lessons using this setting.
Let's look at an example.
Assume I am selling travel writing diaries and using "travel
journals" as my keyword phrase. Any time a person enters any
combination of "travel" and "journals" in a search, my ad will
appear. The ad will also appear for plurals and relevant
variations. While this may sound great at first glance, a broad
match setting can result in low quality hits and poor conversion
rates. A person searching for travel journal stories is going to
see my link. While a decent percentage will click my link, they
are far less likely to buy because they are just browsing. Using
broad match, my costs go up and my conversions go down.
Broad match isn't necessarily a bad option. If your product
makes a popular Christmas gift, you definitely want to use the
broad match option in November and December. You prospective
clients will be motivated to buy. Even the "browsing" surfers
will convert well.
Phrase Match
Phrase match is a matching option that gives you a bit more
control over your ads. Phrase match tells the Adwords platform
to only show your ad when a search is conducted for the
particular order of your keyword phrase. Using the phrase match
option for "travel journals", my ad would appear when someone
search for a phrase with "travel journals" in it, but not
"journals travel". To use phrase match for keyword phrases, you
simply place quotation marks around them.
Exact Match
Exact match is...exact match. It is the most targeted option.
You should use it only if you want your ad to appear in searches
for the exact keyword phrase as written. For instance, if I want
my ad to appear in searches for "travel journals" and nothing
else, I will use the exact match. To select the exact match
option, simply place brackets ("[]") around the keyword phrase.
Negative Match
No, the negative match option doesn't involve cussing, insults
or adult sites. Instead, it allows you to designate which
keyword phrase search results you do not want your ad to appear
in. For example, I may not want my travel journal product to
appear in search results for "Amazon travel journals". I would
simply list the keyword phrase with a dash (-) in front of it
and my ad will not appear. The negative match option is a
tremendous option for eliminating junk traffic from your Adwords
campaign.
The Google Adwords platform is a tremendous advertising
platform. Effectively manipulate your keywords and it can be a
highly profitable one as well.

Follow these tips to make your web site user friendly and
increase sales.
Make it easy for prospective buyers to find what they are
looking for.
Easy navigation is essential to keeping prospective buyers at
your site. Provide plenty of links on your home page, giving
visitors an overview of your web site's content and choices.
Provide links to your home page and main sections (such as your
order form, contact page, products, and articles) on every page.
Visitors may not visit your pages in the sequence you would like
them to. Provide a site map (table of contents) if your site has
more than twenty pages. Make sure all links are working.
Make your web pages easy to read.
An easy-to-read, professionally-designed web site can maximize
your sales. Use color and spacing to make your web pages easy to
read. Dark text on a light background is easy to read. Avoid
text on dark and busy backgrounds. A hint of color softens the
screen. Break up your sales copy into short, easy-to-read
sections and use subheadings to highlight benefits. Split up
long pages into several pages.
Keep pages short.
Visitors should be able to see the important information,
especially on your home page, without scrolling down. Studies
show that more than half of the web surfers never scroll down
past the first screen of information, so provide your benefits,
site description, and USP at the top of the page.
Make it easy to contact you.
Provide your phone number, email address, and URL (web address)
on every page. This will make it easier for people to go back to
your web site.
Speed up your web site.
Your web site's speed has a significant impact on user loyalty.
A slow web site will cost you sales. Visitors won't wait more
than 10 seconds for your web pages to load. Make your home page
fast loading to keep visitors at your site.
A user-friendly site will sell more. Make your web site user
friendly to keep visitors at your site, read your sales
materials and buy from you.

Adsense is probably one of the quickest and most powerful roots
to website profits with the easy implementation of a simple
snippet of code. If used properly it can generate a great
passive income for any site. But that's the crux if you're not
placing the right Adsense code in the right style and in the
right position on your pages then you're actually losing money.
Apart from the ease of implementation the results you can
achieve are fast and they can also be surprising and exciting.
The first thing to do when considering Adsense is to research
your keywords. Research your market if you're adding Adsense to
an existing site or explore niche markets if this is a new site.
Examine keywords and keyphrases from the market that get the
most searches on the search engines. There are a number of sites
and software tools that will allow you to do this some of them
even giving you the click costs, essentially how much you will
make per click on an ad.
Select say 10 keywords or keyphrases and then consider your site
content or for best results create new content. Unique and
keyword rich articles related to your site theme work well. Use
your 10 keywords to choose an article theme and then create an
article for each keyword. Aim to have around 3% keyword density
for each article. Keyword density is the number of times your
keyword appears in relation to the number of over all words in
the article.
Be sure to make your article informative and grammatically
correct. Badly written articles, focused on SEO only, will do
you no favours and often turn visitors away and maybe pop up on
the search engine radar, which could mean a slip in your site
rankings. Think long term here. There is no reason that, once
set up, your Adsense site wouldn't continue to bring in a
passive growing income for years to come.
Once you have your articles build your site.
Now before you insert the ad code you should consider two
things, the styling of the ads and the positioning. The styling
is possibly the most important. A badly styled ad in the perfect
position on your page will get a poorer click through rate than
a well-styled ad in the same position.
The best click through rates, when it comes to styling, have
been proven to come from removing the ad borders and setting the
background colour to match your page background colour.
Essentially blending the ads into the page and getting them to
look like part of the page content. You should also have the
colour of the links on your page match those of the ads.
Next consider the positioning of your ads. Place your ads where
site visitors are most likely to click on them. Research shows
that the top left of the page is the first spot to draw the eye
and in turn get the most clicks. The new format 'Ad Links' work
well here. The other hotspot is directly within the body of your
content. The square formatted ads at the top right of your body
copy work best here.
The correct styling and positioning of your ads is crucial for
better click throughs and higher payouts.
You will get clicks on your ads almost no matter where you place
them if you have enough site traffic. But styling and
positioning them properly from the start can triple or more your
click through rates.
Adsense has good tracking statistics that allow publishers to
track their results across a number of sites on a site-by-site,
page-by-page basis. You should make the most of this facility to
learn which ads are performing the best and fine-tune them
accordingly to improve your results.
Finally, you have the option to use image ads instead of text
only. But, the average Net user is sophisticated enough now to
ignore image based ads. They're now almost universally blocked
subconciously by Net users as advertising. Stick to text ads
only. Be sure this is set in your account you can do this in 'My
Account'.
To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a
definite focus on what you want to achieve and how you will go
about achieving it. Set income goals day by day and work to
increase your income by tweaking your pages and adding more
keyword targeted content.
Consitently improving your site and introducing new content will
see your Adsense profits grow.

While some marketers struggle for years to earn enough money to
pay the bills, others zoom to the top, their sites exploding
with traffic and their in-boxes flooded with order and payment
statements. Why? How do these marketers differ from the rest?
Are they smarter? Braver? Do they invest more wisely or have
more money to invest? Do they know the right people?
No. In fact, there's only one real differencde between them and
the rest of the internet marketing community. In a word:
Attitude.
They aren't intimidated by the internet -- they eat it for
breakfast. Like ancient conquerors, they plunge into the vast
sea of the internet, heedless of its tempermental storms,
jutting their jaws at the giant terrors that it holds while the
rest of us shiver on the shores, barely daring to get our toes
wet.
Of course they've been knocked down, beaten back and have the
scars to prove it. But with each beating, their determination
only strengthens and, as the sting of defeat fades, they learn
from their mistakes. Most of all, they never, ever give up and
never question their resolve. They will make it or die trying.
Thinking like a conqueror: THIS is the first and most elemental
step to becoming one. Because of this, they take swift, decisive
action, they reach out and grab what they want and they don't
take "no" for an answer.
Okay. Great. But what does this mean to the average person? Can
anyone be an internet conqueror or do they have to be born that
way?
CONQUERORS ARE MADE, NOT BORN Attitude is everything. Attitude
influences thinking patterns, which decides a course of action
which, ultimately, leads to success or failure. Like the old
saying goes, "the only true failure is the one who gives up."
And the ones who give up don't have the attitude to continue on.
So attitude is the #1 secret to conquering the internet. Below
is all 8 secrets, some of which may shock those still cringing
at the shoreline. It's not necessary to do all of them, if
indeed that's even possible since each can become quite
demanding. And these are not all-inclusive, since there are
probably new and better ways coming out every day. But each
demonstrates the difference in attitude and thinking of a
marketer and an internet Conqueror.
1. ATTITUDE Marketers follow once the way has been cleared.
Conquerors forge ahead.
2. CREATE A PRESENCE Marketers tend to stay in the background,
creating pages and adding their links, but never making
themselves available to the general public. Conquerors create a
specific "presence", a personality that distinguishes them from
others. This attracts attention, which also attracts sales. They
do this by...
3. START AN ORIGINAL NEWSLETTER Marketers read newsletters;
Conquerors write them. If this seems daunting, begin it as a
blog with an RSS Feed. Do NOT use a pre-written system or import
other's content. The key is to create something unique that

4. PUBLISH AN EBOOK Marketers read ebooks; Conquerors write
them. It doesn't have to be very long, just original and
informative. If this seems like too much, start by publishing
articles. Once 10-15 articles have been written, re-write them
into one cohesive collection.
5. START AN ARTICLE SUBMISSION SITE Marketers submit articles;
Conquerors run the submission sites. Again, this software is
available, in some cases, for free. By doing this, both authors
and newsletters come to the Conquerors' site, instead of vise
versa.
6. START A FORUM Marketers go to forums; Conquerors create
forums and draw others to them. The key to this is finding a
niche that has no forum and starting one. There are programs
that offer free forum programs on the internet. But be prepared
to set policy and moderate the forum, as well as promote it.
7. CREATE A SEARCH ENGINE Marketers submit to search engines;
Conquerors run them. Again, the software is available online.
There are even some that, to some extent are self-automated. The
only set up involved is writing a simple letter to the
submission services, asking that they include your site in their
listings.
8. CREATE A HOMEPAGE Marketers have a home page; Conquerors
provide them. A home page may require a bit more set up,
bandwidth and maintenance than other options but, by creating a
home page, a conqueror draws regular visitors to themselves and
a revenue source for posting ads.
There is a recurring theme in each of these examples. That is,
to do something which organically attracts visitors. So the
final difference? Marketers run after visitors; Conquerors
attract visitors to them.--mo

It is becoming common today for businesses to use social networking sites such as Facebook to market their brand. However, many businesses are not gaining all the benefits of Facebook, according to business experts. Small, simple changes may be the key to your business maximising Facebook’s potential.
Facebook, when used well, can provide your business with the benefit of global reach while still being able to maintain communication at a personal level with customers. The site can be used as a simple marketing tool and increases exposure, but businesses must follow simple guidelines to leverage Facebook benefits.
Expert business advice from a number of business experts is shared exclusively in an upcoming series of business TV shows. The shows cover advice including the ideal number of friends, how to make a branded Facebook application, what content your customers will find interesting and who you should partner with. Each aspect is discussed in depth and explains how applying the advice will result in benefits for your business. The exclusive business TV series describes many examples of businesses who have applied the advice so viewers can see the benefits.
With over 100 million unique visitors a month, there is now no question that Facebook is an important place to be for businesses. Many business experts even predict that the increasing time spent on social networking sites by consumers will eventually mean that traditional websites become obsolete. Therefore, the sooner businesses become involved in social networking sites, using the correct procedure and etiquette, the sooner they will build a solid reputation and begin to see the benefits.
